A Church with a never changing Message to an ever changing World!

Summer is here and with it comes the hot, muggy days and nights. Its easy to work up a sweat these days, especially if you’ve been about the Lord’s work. There has been a lot going on in our church and in the lives of our church family. Some of it has been good and some sad. But for all, we give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and He knows what is best. A long-time member of our church and family, Marie Bolton Hale, went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2008. Church records show that she was devoted to our church and active in its work. She had not been able to be with us for many years due to her health condition. Another family member, Jack Coffey, departed this earthly life on June 25th. Our hearts go out to Patty and their family with the loss of a husband and father/grandfather. Jack has suffered for years but always seems to pull out of it but this time, it was in God’s plan for him to come home. Remember both of these families as they deal with the loss of a loved one. The baby dedication for Tanner Logan Sams was very inspirational as the service challenged not only Brittany and Logan, but all parents, to raise their children in the love and fear of the Lord. We were pleased to see so many visitors for this special service. Babies are God’s special gifts to us. VBS kept everyone busy who participated. We had good attendance every night. In the 3-5 grade class, 8 out of the 10 who attended had perfect attendance and 4 of them have already been saved and/or baptized, while another boy expressed interest and a desire to be saved. Although we had no public confirmations of salvation, we know the seeds were sown for future commitments and we await the great news!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENTS AND REMINDERS
Tune into 92.3FM Sunday at 8:00 am for the Sunday School Lesson Preview. Join us on Wednesday evenings as we continue to study the book of Romans. The WMU will be collecting cleaning supplies for the Camp this month and will be delivering them at the Quarterly Meeting. Also, they are collecting $5 gift cards from area restaurants for the Camp’s staff. If you would like to make a monetary donation toward these items, please give it to Vicky.

A couple of months ago, a truck driver stopped by our church and left a note. This note was shared with us during one of our services. The following is the name and address of the man who felt led to stop by our church and ask for prayer for himself and his family. Use this opportunity to drop this man a note, card or letter letting him know he is in our thoughts and prayers.
